Eye Tracker Fixation Screen Coordinate

Apply explicit axis origins and scale factors to a fixation coordinate without estimating gaze calibration or display geometry.

Description

Apply supplied axis-wise origin and scale parameters to eye-tracker coordinates.

Cognitive-task records distinguish stimuli, responses, exposure order, rating scales and adaptive timing. A stop-delay update does not estimate inhibition latency, and a screen-coordinate mapping is not a calibrated perceptual measure. Supplied observations and task flags do not themselves establish ability, diagnosis or a psychological mechanism.

Apply supplied axis-wise origin and scale parameters to eye-tracker coordinates.

When to use this tool

Use Eye Tracker Fixation Screen Coordinate when you already have rawX, rawY, originX, originY, scaleX, scaleY and need to apply supplied axis-wise origin and scale parameters to eye-tracker coordinates.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter rawX, rawY, originX, originY, scaleX, scaleY. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read screenX, screenY. Use the output convention below.

Require scaleX and scaleY nonzero; return (rawX-originX)*scaleX and (rawY-originY)*scaleY.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative scales permit axis reversal. No calibration is fitted, fixation detected, screen bounds checked, head motion corrected or visual behavior inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete experimental protocol, stimulus calibration, observation records and analysis plan. Use an appropriate full task and statistical analysis for a research interpretation; local timing, rating and coordinate transformations preserve only their declared conventions.
