Description

Return supplied study follow-up as a share of plan.

Health-research records connect study identifiers, source assertions, outcome labels and timing conventions. A coverage count, literal match or recorded interval can expose missing information, while the quality of evidence, actual blinding and treatment effectiveness still require assessment of the original study.

Return supplied study follow-up as a share of plan.

When to use this tool

Use Study Followup Exposure Share when checking a supplied study-record, evidence-support or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedTime, plannedTime. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read share. Use the output convention below.

Return supplied study follow-up as a share of plan. Require observedTime >= 0 and plannedTime > 0; share = observed/planned.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
observedTimeObserved TimeRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
plannedTimePlanned TimeRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
shareDimensionless numerator/denominator ratio under the explicit basis above.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Share may exceed one; follow-up completeness, attrition bias and clinical outcome are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Read the original research and registration records, appraise study design and bias, and consult qualified health professionals for conclusions that affect care.
