Public Claim Source Gap Tool

Calculate public claim source gap from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return verified-source count gap and unsupported distinct claims.

Health-research records connect study identifiers, source assertions, outcome labels and timing conventions. A coverage count, literal match or recorded interval can expose missing information, while the quality of evidence, actual blinding and treatment effectiveness still require assessment of the original study.

Return verified-source count gap and unsupported distinct claims.

When to use this tool

Use Public Claim Source Gap when checking a supplied study-record, evidence-support or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter claimIds, suppliedSources, requiredSourceCount, verified. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read verifiedDistinctSources, sourceCountGap, unsupportedClaims. Use the output convention below.

Return verified-source count gap and unsupported distinct claims. Require aligned claim/source/verified arrays and nonnegative whole requiredSourceCount; count distinct nonempty verified sources and claims lacking any such source, gap = source count-required.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
claimIdsClaim IdsRequired. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256.
suppliedSourcesSupplied SourcesRequired. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256.
requiredSourceCountRequired Source CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
verifiedVerifiedRequired. Array of boolean; maximum items 256.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
verifiedDistinctSourcesDistinct nonempty sources with verified=true across all claims; not a per-claim count.Required. Safe integer.
sourceCountGapSource Count GapRequired. Safe integer.
unsupportedClaimsCount of distinct claims lacking any nonempty verified source.Required. Safe integer.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The aggregate source count is not per claim; verification flags do not authenticate evidence or establish clinical truth.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Read the original research and registration records, appraise study design and bias, and consult qualified health professionals for conclusions that affect care.
