ECG Calibration Square Wave Gain Gap Tool

Recorded calibration-mark scale audit against an explicit expected gain, without inferring instrument compliance.

Description

Compare observed ECG calibration gain with a reference gain.

Cardiac measurement formulas depend on geometry, units, calibration and reference origins. A Doppler projection correction, echo disc-volume contribution or waveform integral evaluates supplied quantities without validating image acquisition, signal quality or physiological interpretation.

Compare observed ECG calibration gain with a reference gain.

When to use this tool

Use ECG Calibration Square Wave Gain Gap when checking one supplied cardiac measurement, geometry or calibration term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedMillimeters, nominalMillivolts, expectedMmPerMv. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read observedGain, relativeGainError. Use the output convention below.

Compare observed ECG calibration gain with a reference gain. Require observedMillimeters >= 0 and nominalMillivolts/expectedMmPerMv > 0; observedGain = mm/mV, relativeGainError = observedGain/expected-1.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This arithmetic does not verify actual calibration waveform, device performance, lead accuracy or diagnostic suitability.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use validated acquisition and calibration, a complete appropriate measurement method and qualified clinical interpretation; assess measurement uncertainty and model assumptions separately.
