Description
Return wrapped cycle phase and an ordinary reference-fraction gap.
Cardiac recordings use sample indexes, time origins, event markers and observation windows. A sample-grid count, interval conversion or phase comparison operates on supplied records; it does not detect an actual heartbeat, validate an ECG or determine a clinical diagnosis.
Return wrapped cycle phase and an ordinary reference-fraction gap.
When to use this tool
Use Cardiac Cycle Phase Offset when checking the stated cardiac-record indexing, timing, phase or coverage convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter eventAt, cycleOrigin, cycleDuration, referenceFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read phaseFraction, signedReferenceGap. Use the output convention below.
Return wrapped cycle phase and an ordinary reference-fraction gap. Require cycleDuration > 0 and referenceFraction in [0,1]; phase wraps eventAt-cycleOrigin modulo duration before dividing, signedReferenceGap = phase-reference.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| eventAt | Event At | Required. Finite number. |
| cycleOrigin | Cycle Origin | Required. Finite number. |
| cycleDuration | Cycle Duration | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| referenceFraction | Reference in [0,1], including one; comparison uses an unwrapped ordinary difference. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| phaseFraction | Wrapped phase in [0,1). | Required. Finite number. |
| signedReferenceGap | Signed Reference Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The reference gap is not wrapped to the shortest cyclic separation; no physiological phase identification or signal detection occurs.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the actual recording, acquisition settings and event annotations; use validated analysis and qualified clinical interpretation for patient-related decisions.
