Description
Label a specimen's recorded determination date and determiner wording.
Botanical observations distinguish specimen provenance, sampling states, germination records, image area and category vocabularies. Excluded observations differ from failed germination, and a pixel-area calibration must use an area ratio rather than a length ratio. Source-qualified labels preserve reported identifications without confirming them.
Label a specimen's recorded determination date and determiner wording.
When to use this tool
Use Herbarium Determination Date Label when you already have specimenId, determinationDate, determinerWording and need to label a specimen's recorded determination date and determiner wording.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter specimenId, determinationDate, determinerWording. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label. Use the output convention below.
Require specimenId/determinerWording nonempty and a real UTC date; append the date and wording.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- No specimen, taxonomic determination, person identity, provenance or name usage is authenticated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original specimens, observation logs, calibrated images and taxonomic sources. Use the complete survey or experimental method for biological interpretation; local fractions and record checks do not infer unobserved states or mechanisms.
