Remediation Lab Result Censored Envelope Tool

Represent a supplied one-sided assay censor bound without substituting a concentration.

Description

Translate a comparison token into one-sided result metadata.

Environmental-remediation bookkeeping uses explicit water, soil, dry-mass, concentration and sampling bases. A local mass residual, censored-result bound or supplied target margin does not identify a removal mechanism, establish representativeness or determine an environmentally acceptable contaminant level.

Translate a comparison token into one-sided result metadata.

When to use this tool

Use Remediation Lab Result Censored Envelope when checking the stated remediation measurement, mass/volume balance or support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter limit, comparator. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read lowerPresent, upperPresent, bound, inclusive. Inspect lowerPresent, upperPresent, inclusive before interpreting the associated values.

Translate a comparison token into one-sided result metadata. Require comparator less-than, less-or-equal, greater-than or greater-or-equal; set upper/lowerPresent by direction, bound = limit and inclusive follows equals.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

upperPresentUpper PresentRequired. Boolean.
boundBoundRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • This preserves a censored bound, not a measured value, imputation, hazard assessment or validated detection limit.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified sampling and analytical data, consistent material/unit bases and a complete transport or treatment model; involve qualified environmental professionals for practical or regulatory decisions.
