Wearable Contact Impedance Area Factor Tool

Ideal inverse-area scaling at a fixed frequency and contact condition, not a complete electrode impedance model.

Loading tool…

Description

Return area-normalized contact impedance and target-area prediction.

Bench measurements use supplied electrical/force references, contact geometry and calibration models. A bridge voltage, pressure or drift correction evaluates a local relationship while actual wiring, sensor response, safe excitation and biological contact conditions require independent verification.

Return area-normalized contact impedance and target-area prediction.

When to use this tool

Use Wearable Contact Impedance Area Factor when checking the stated benign bench sensor, contact or calibration convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter impedanceMagnitude, contactArea, targetArea. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read areaNormalizedImpedance, predictedTargetImpedance. Use the output convention below.

Return area-normalized contact impedance and target-area prediction. Require impedanceMagnitude >= 0 and both areas > 0; normalized = impedance*contactArea, target prediction divides by targetArea.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes inverse-area magnitude scaling with fixed interface properties; complex impedance, actual contact quality and safe use are not established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated instruments, verified wiring/geometry and a complete engineering assessment; involve qualified professionals for device safety or clinical interpretation.
