Sensor Bridge Strain Gauge Factor Tool

Small-signal bridge approximation with an explicit wiring/sensitivity factor.

Loading tool…

Description

Return a supplied strain-gauge bridge approximation.

Bench measurements use supplied electrical/force references, contact geometry and calibration models. A bridge voltage, pressure or drift correction evaluates a local relationship while actual wiring, sensor response, safe excitation and biological contact conditions require independent verification.

Return a supplied strain-gauge bridge approximation.

When to use this tool

Use Sensor Bridge Strain Gauge Factor when checking the stated benign bench sensor, contact or calibration convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter strain, gaugeFactor, excitation, bridgeFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read relativeResistanceChange, outputVoltage. Use the output convention below.

Return a supplied strain-gauge bridge approximation. Require gaugeFactor and excitation >= 0; relativeResistanceChange = gaugeFactor*strain, outputVoltage = excitation*bridgeFactor*gaugeFactor*strain.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Bridge factor is supplied and may be signed; this linear approximation does not identify wiring or validate sensor calibration.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated instruments, verified wiring/geometry and a complete engineering assessment; involve qualified professionals for device safety or clinical interpretation.
