Description
Count verified occurrence records meeting a supplied precision bound.
Biodiversity summaries depend on taxon concepts, sampling effort, detection and missing-status policies. Literal labels and observed shares can organize records while species identity, true abundance, occupancy and conservation status require appropriate ecological evidence and analysis.
Count verified occurrence records meeting a supplied precision bound.
When to use this tool
Use Taxon Occurrence Precision Gap when checking the stated biodiversity record, effort, count or support convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter spatialRadii, acceptedMaximum, verified. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read verifiedRecords, supportedPrecisionRecords, unsupportedVerifiedRecords. Use the output convention below.
Count verified occurrence records meeting a supplied precision bound. Require aligned nonnegative spatialRadii/verified flags and acceptedMaximum >= 0; support requires verified and radius <= maximum.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| spatialRadii | Spatial Radii | Required. Array of finite number; minimum 0; maximum items 256. |
| acceptedMaximum | Accepted Maximum | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| verified | Verified | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| verifiedRecords | Verified Records | Required. Safe integer. |
| supportedPrecisionRecords | Supported Precision Records | Required. Safe integer. |
| unsupportedVerifiedRecords | Unsupported Verified Records | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Radius bounds and verification flags are supplied; no location, taxon identity or acceptable survey precision is authenticated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use source-aware taxonomy, verified field records and a suitable sampling/detection model for ecological estimates, uncertainty or conservation conclusions.
