Description
Normalize supplied country weights into shares.
Bibliographic records distinguish editions, publication states, author identifiers, dates and fractional-credit conventions. A DOI-shaped string may not resolve, and an ORCID-shaped string can fail its checksum. Supplied status and source labels organize evidence without establishing authorship, publication validity or a complete impact measure.
Normalize supplied country weights into shares.
When to use this tool
Use Affiliation Country Fraction Input when you already have countryCodes, countryWeights and need to normalize supplied country weights into shares.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter countryCodes, countryWeights. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read countryCodes, normalizedShares. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty aligned arrays, unique literal country codes and nonnegative weights with a positive finite sum. Preserve code order and divide each weight by the sum.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| countryCodes | Country Codes | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| countryWeights | Nonnegative supplied weights aligned with unique codes; a positive finite sum is required. | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| countryCodes | Country Codes | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| normalizedShares | Weights divided by their sum, preserving code order; no affiliation evidence or country registry is checked. | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Empty code text is allowed if unique. No country registry, affiliation evidence, double-counting policy, author attribution or appropriate weighting scheme is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check original publications, authoritative identifier records and current publisher notices. Define counting scope, credit allocation and date meaning before combining local labels or author overlaps into a bibliometric analysis.
