Description
Return available presentation time per learner after response allowance.
Studio-class budgets allocate supplied time, turns, places and materials. Reserved quantities and shared work affect the reporting denominator, and a negative remainder or undefined per-person amount is useful bookkeeping information. These arithmetic checks do not assess learning quality, accessibility or whether a real class can safely perform an activity.
Return available presentation time per learner after response allowance.
When to use this tool
Use Peer Critique Turn Minute Budget when checking the stated studio allocation, participation, capacity or time budget.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sessionMinutes, setupMinutes, students, responseMinutesPerStudent. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read presentationMinutesEach, feasible. Inspect feasible before interpreting the associated values.
Return available presentation time per learner after response allowance. Require nonnegative durations and students >= 1; presentationEach = (session-setup)/students-responseMinutesPerStudent, feasible compares session-setup with total response budget.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sessionMinutes | Session Minutes Unit: min. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| setupMinutes | Setup Minutes Unit: min. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| students | Students | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| responseMinutesPerStudent | Response Minutes Per Student | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| presentationMinutesEach | Signed remaining presentation time per student; inspect feasible before interpreting a negative remainder. | Required. Finite number. |
| feasible | Feasible | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Negative presentation time is retained; this arithmetic does not assess discussion quality, fairness or a suitable lesson design.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the actual class plan, learner needs, usable resources and supervision requirements before organizing an activity.
