Feed Moisture Dry Share Tool

Calculate feed moisture dry share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return feed dry mass and dry fraction.

Aquaponic balances distinguish wet feed, dry matter, nutrient mass, concentration and water volume. A balance term can expose changes or losses without identifying nutrient availability, biological conversion or a suitable supplement dose. Each mass fraction must be attached to its stated material basis.

Return feed dry mass and dry fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Feed Moisture Dry Share when checking the stated aquaponic material, nutrient or measurement basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter wetMass, moistureFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dryMass, dryShare. Use the output convention below.

Return feed dry mass and dry fraction. Require wetMass >= 0 and moistureFraction in [0,1]; dryShare = 1-moisture, dryMass = wet*dryShare.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This is a wet-mass water basis, not nutrient balance, recommended ration or verified feed suitability.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements and a complete system nutrient/water balance with qualified professional interpretation for actual management.
