Aquaponic Fish Feed Plant Area Ratio Tool

Observed feed-effort ratio without selecting feeding or planting rates.

Loading tool…

Description

Return observed feed per planted area-day.

Aquaponic balances distinguish wet feed, dry matter, nutrient mass, concentration and water volume. A balance term can expose changes or losses without identifying nutrient availability, biological conversion or a suitable supplement dose. Each mass fraction must be attached to its stated material basis.

Return observed feed per planted area-day.

When to use this tool

Use Aquaponic Fish Feed Plant Area Ratio when checking the stated aquaponic material, nutrient or measurement basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedFeed, plantedArea, observedDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read feedPerAreaDay. Use the output convention below.

Return observed feed per planted area-day. Require observedFeed >= 0 and positive plantedArea/observedDays; feedPerAreaDay = feed/(area*days).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The feed mass basis and observation interval are supplied; this is not a recommended ration, plant demand estimate or verified nutrient balance.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements and a complete system nutrient/water balance with qualified professional interpretation for actual management.
