Description
Calculate supplied makeup-water share of input volume.
Aquaponic accounting separates nominal water volume, flow ratios, electrical input energy, fish records and solids mass bases. Tank/bed flow ratios do not determine hydraulics or suitable operation, and delivered or recorded feed wording does not establish consumption. Supplied factors describe limited scenarios.
Calculate supplied makeup-water share of input volume.
When to use this tool
Use Aquaponic Water Makeup Share when you already have makeupWaterVolume, totalInputWaterVolume and need to calculate supplied makeup-water share of input volume.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter makeupWaterVolume, totalInputWaterVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read fraction, remainder. Use the output convention below.
Require totalInputWaterVolume>0 and makeup within [0,total]; return makeup/total and total-makeup.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| makeupWaterVolume | Makeup Water Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalInputWaterVolume | Total Input Water Volume | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| fraction | Fraction | Required. Finite number. |
| remainder | Remainder | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Volume basis and accounting period must match. No source-water quality, treatment, system balance or safe input requirement is assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified system records and complete water, energy, biological and equipment assessment. Check actual conditions, animal needs and operating constraints before treating local balances or geometric terms as management decisions.
