Aquaponic Sump Level Volume

Calculate rectangular sump water volume from explicit constant base area and depth without setting operating levels.

Description

Calculate nominal sump water volume from supplied base area and depth.

Aquaponic accounting separates nominal water volume, flow ratios, electrical input energy, fish records and solids mass bases. Tank/bed flow ratios do not determine hydraulics or suitable operation, and delivered or recorded feed wording does not establish consumption. Supplied factors describe limited scenarios.

Calculate nominal sump water volume from supplied base area and depth.

When to use this tool

Use Aquaponic Sump Level Volume when you already have baseAreaSquareMeters, recordedWaterDepthMeters and need to calculate nominal sump water volume from supplied base area and depth.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter baseAreaSquareMeters, recordedWaterDepthMeters. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read waterVolumeLiters. Use the output convention below.

Require area in m² and depth in m nonnegative; multiply and convert m³ to liters with 1000.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes a constant horizontal cross-section. No actual level, displacement, freeboard, usable volume or safe installation is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified system records and complete water, energy, biological and equipment assessment. Check actual conditions, animal needs and operating constraints before treating local balances or geometric terms as management decisions.
