Harvest Net Gross Mass

Subtract separately measured container and retained-water masses from one recorded gross harvest.

Loading tool…

Description

Subtract supplied tare and retained water from gross harvest mass.

Aquaculture records distinguish gross harvest, tare, retained water, sample expansion, feed withdrawal and recorded live counts. Delivered feed differs from ingestion, and nominal mesh geometry differs from behavior under load. Local mass, depth and energy terms do not establish animal welfare, water quality or suitable stocking.

Subtract supplied tare and retained water from gross harvest mass.

When to use this tool

Use Harvest Net Gross Mass when you already have grossHarvestKg, containerTareKg, retainedWaterKg and need to subtract supplied tare and retained water from gross harvest mass.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter grossHarvestKg, containerTareKg, retainedWaterKg. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read fishMassKg. Use the output convention below.

Require masses>=0 and tare+water<=gross; return gross-tare-water in kg.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The mass categories must be nonoverlapping and comparable. No actual fish mass, species, weighing accuracy or product quality is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review original weighing, sample, feed, water and equipment records. Use the complete veterinary, biological and engineering assessment for real operation; local record checks do not determine appropriate management or safe handling.
