Description
Calculate nominal aerator operating time and electrical energy.
Aquaculture records distinguish gross harvest, tare, retained water, sample expansion, feed withdrawal and recorded live counts. Delivered feed differs from ingestion, and nominal mesh geometry differs from behavior under load. Local mass, depth and energy terms do not establish animal welfare, water quality or suitable stocking.
Calculate nominal aerator operating time and electrical energy.
When to use this tool
Use Aerator Runtime Energy Log when you already have ratedInputKilowatts, runtimeHours, dutyFraction and need to calculate nominal aerator operating time and electrical energy.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter ratedInputKilowatts, runtimeHours, dutyFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read energyKilowattHours, operatingHours. Use the output convention below.
Require rated input kW/runtime hours>=0 and dutyFraction in [0,1]; operatingHours=runtime*duty and energy=kW*runtime*duty.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| ratedInputKilowatts | Rated Input Kilowatts | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| runtimeHours | Runtime Hours | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| dutyFraction | Fraction of the recorded runtime counted as operating; not an efficiency or oxygen-transfer fraction. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| energyKilowattHours | Energy Kilowatt Hours | Required. Finite number. |
| operatingHours | Operating Hours | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Duty fraction scales the recorded interval, and rated power may differ from actual draw. No oxygen transfer, efficiency, energy metering or suitable aeration is determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original weighing, sample, feed, water and equipment records. Use the complete veterinary, biological and engineering assessment for real operation; local record checks do not determine appropriate management or safe handling.
