Description
Calculate supplied milk-component mass from a percentage.
Animal records distinguish measurements, count-time exposure, mass fractions, percentages and nominal feed differences. Offered-minus-refused mass does not verify ingestion, and live-weight loss does not identify its cause. Source labels and scalar rates preserve supplied observations without assessing health or suitable care.
Calculate supplied milk-component mass from a percentage.
When to use this tool
Use Milk Component Mass Fraction when you already have milkMassKg, componentPercent and need to calculate supplied milk-component mass from a percentage.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter milkMassKg, componentPercent. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read componentMassKg. Use the output convention below.
Require milkMassKg>=0 and componentPercent in [0,100]; return mass*percent/100.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| milkMassKg | Milk Mass Kg | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| componentPercent | Mass percent 0..100, unlike a 0..1 decimal fraction. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 100. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| componentMassKg | Component Mass Kg | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This percentage convention differs from a decimal mass fraction. No actual component, assay validity, milk quality or animal care is assessed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original animal, feed, weighing and observation records with the complete professional assessment. Check sampling scope, calibration and welfare context before interpreting local fractions or count balances as management or clinical conclusions.
