Description
Calculate supplied milk fat and protein masses.
Animal records distinguish measurements, count-time exposure, mass fractions, percentages and nominal feed differences. Offered-minus-refused mass does not verify ingestion, and live-weight loss does not identify its cause. Source labels and scalar rates preserve supplied observations without assessing health or suitable care.
Calculate supplied milk fat and protein masses.
When to use this tool
Use Milk Fat Protein Output Pair when you already have milkMass, fatFraction, proteinFraction and need to calculate supplied milk fat and protein masses.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter milkMass, fatFraction, proteinFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read fatMass, proteinMass. Use the output convention below.
Require milkMass>=0, fat fraction in [0,1] and protein fraction in [0,1-fat]; multiply mass by each fraction.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| milkMass | Milk Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| fatFraction | Decimal milk fat mass fraction, not percentage. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| proteinFraction | Decimal protein mass fraction, constrained so fat+protein<=1. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| fatMass | Fat Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| proteinMass | Protein Mass | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- These are decimal mass fractions rather than percentages. No composition measurement, nutritional interpretation, milk quality or animal health is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original animal, feed, weighing and observation records with the complete professional assessment. Check sampling scope, calibration and welfare context before interpreting local fractions or count balances as management or clinical conclusions.
