Description
Return two mentoring provided-minus-received balances.
Adult-learning records allocate supplied participation, contact time, credits and optional requirements. A local fraction or eligibility predicate follows the chosen counting policy; it does not assess learning quality, recognize a qualification or establish contractual entitlement. Excluded and optional components can change the denominator.
Return two mentoring provided-minus-received balances.
When to use this tool
Use Peer Mentoring Reciprocal Minute Balance when checking the stated adult-learning participation, requirement, text or time convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter firstProvided, firstReceived, secondProvided, secondReceived. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read firstBalance, secondBalance, accountedGap. Use the output convention below.
Return two mentoring provided-minus-received balances. Require nonnegative minutes; first/second balances subtract each person's received time, accountedGap = total provided-total received.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| firstProvided | First Provided | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| firstReceived | First Received | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| secondProvided | Second Provided | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| secondReceived | Second Received | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| firstBalance | First Balance | Required. Finite number. |
| secondBalance | Second Balance | Required. Finite number. |
| accountedGap | Accounted Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This reconciles records without establishing actual reciprocal interaction, fairness or learning benefit.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
