Experience Example Category Weight Tool

Calculate experience example category weight from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return a supplied experience-category weight or unknown placeholder.

Adult-learning records allocate supplied participation, contact time, credits and optional requirements. A local fraction or eligibility predicate follows the chosen counting policy; it does not assess learning quality, recognize a qualification or establish contractual entitlement. Excluded and optional components can change the denominator.

Return a supplied experience-category weight or unknown placeholder.

When to use this tool

Use Experience Example Category Weight when checking the stated adult-learning participation, requirement, text or time convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter category, suppliedCategories, weights. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read found, weight. Inspect found before interpreting the associated values.

Return a supplied experience-category weight or unknown placeholder. Require aligned unique categories/nonnegative weights; found tests membership, weight returns its corresponding value or zero when absent.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Unknown zero differs from a recognized zero weight; no category classification, evidence quality or actual credit is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods
