Machine Hour Wrap Increment Tool

Compute an explicit nonnegative machine-clock increment under a supplied single-wrap flag.

Loading tool…

Description

Return machine-hour increment with a supplied single-wrap flag.

Farm records depend on counter resets, measurement calibration, moisture basis and elapsed-time conventions. A corrected count or maintenance remainder reconciles supplied data without detecting arbitrary resets, measuring actual calibration quality or authorizing equipment use. A rollover flag represents a specific accounting assumption.

Return machine-hour increment with a supplied single-wrap flag.

When to use this tool

Use Machine Hour Wrap Increment when checking the stated machinery record, counter, moisture or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter before, after, modulus, wrapped. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read increment. Use the output convention below.

Return machine-hour increment with a supplied single-wrap flag. Require modulus > 0 and both readings in [0,modulus), nondecreasing readings unless wrapped; increment is after-before plus modulus when wrapped.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
beforeBeforeRequired. Finite number.
afterAfterRequired. Finite number.
modulusModulusRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
wrappedTrue adds exactly one supplied modulus; does not detect arbitrary resets or multiple wraps.Required. Boolean.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
incrementIncrementRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Exactly one wrap is assumed, even when after >= before; arbitrary resets, multiple rollovers and actual records are not detected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect original logs, verified calibration and manufacturer service requirements for actual maintenance, yield or operational decisions.
