Machine Log Counter Rollover Delta Tool

Compute an explicitly declared single counter rollover exactly.

Description

Return machine-log counter delta under a single-rollover flag.

Farm records depend on counter resets, measurement calibration, moisture basis and elapsed-time conventions. A corrected count or maintenance remainder reconciles supplied data without detecting arbitrary resets, measuring actual calibration quality or authorizing equipment use. A rollover flag represents a specific accounting assumption.

Return machine-log counter delta under a single-rollover flag.

When to use this tool

Use Machine Log Counter Rollover Delta when checking the stated machinery record, counter, moisture or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter previous, current, modulus, rollover. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read delta. Use the output convention below.

Return machine-log counter delta under a single-rollover flag. Require positive whole modulus and bounded whole readings, current >= previous unless rollover; delta = current-previous plus modulus when rollover.1

previousPreviousRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
currentCurrentRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
modulusModulusRequired. Safe integer; minimum 1.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Exactly one modulus crossing is assumed; arbitrary resets, multiple wraps, timestamps and actual device history are not detected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect original logs, verified calibration and manufacturer service requirements for actual maintenance, yield or operational decisions.
