Agroforestry Carbon Stock One Cohort Tool

One supplied cohort carbon inventory under an explicit root/shoot factor.

Loading tool…

Description

Return trees*dryMassEach*carbonFraction*(1+belowgroundFactor).

Tree and crop material budgets distinguish wet mass, dry biomass, nutrient mass and carbon mass. A belowground-to-aboveground ratio differs from a total biomass multiplier, while returned nutrient differs from plant-available nutrient. Material accounting requires an explicit mass and reporting-area basis.

Return trees*dryMassEach*carbonFraction*(1+belowgroundFactor).

When to use this tool

Use Agroforestry Carbon Stock One Cohort when checking the stated woody material, litter, nutrient or carbon basis.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter trees, dryMassEach, carbonFraction, belowgroundFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read carbonMass. Use the output convention below.

Require nonnegative whole trees, per-tree dry mass and belowgroundFactor, with carbonFraction in [0,1]. Return trees*dryMassEach*carbonFraction*(1+belowgroundFactor).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • BelowgroundFactor is extra belowground/aboveground mass, not a total multiplier; output is carbon mass, not CO₂-equivalent or verified sequestration.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified biomass and composition measurements and a complete suitable nutrient/carbon model for stocks, sequestration or agronomic management decisions.
