Description
Return total and recycled/total.
Agroecological material and density summaries depend on dry/wet mass, seed-component purity, nutrient transformations and sole-crop reference densities. An arithmetic contribution evaluates supplied assumptions without predicting emergence, nutrient availability or a whole-system ecological outcome.
Return total and recycled/total.
When to use this tool
Use Farm Nutrient Recycled Input Share when checking the stated residue, seed, nutrient or reference-density basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter recycledNutrient, importedNutrient, otherNutrient. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read total, recycledFraction. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative recycled, imported and other nutrient inputs with positive total. Return total and recycled/total.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| recycledNutrient | Recycled Nutrient | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| importedNutrient | Imported Nutrient | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| otherNutrient | Other Nutrient | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| total | Total | Required. Finite number. |
| recycledFraction | Recycled Fraction | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- All inputs must represent the same nutrient, mass unit and accounting boundary; no recycling efficiency or sustainability outcome is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use representative field/laboratory measurements and a complete suitable agroecological model for management decisions and uncertainty.
