Agroecosystem Reused Input Fraction

Describe a reused-input mass share for one explicitly bounded agroecosystem input ledger.

Description

Calculate supplied reused-input mass fraction.

Agroecological metrics depend on sampling units, nonoverlapping coverage categories, mass bases and area denominators. Yield per whole plot differs from yield per allocated crop area, and literal crop-code richness per area is not rarefied diversity. Local count expansion assumes comparable density beyond the sampled segment.

Calculate supplied reused-input mass fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Agroecosystem Reused Input Fraction when you already have reusedInputMass, totalInputMass and need to calculate supplied reused-input mass fraction.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter reusedInputMass, totalInputMass. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read reusedFraction, newlySourcedMass. Use the output convention below.

Require totalInputMass>0 and reused within [0,total]; return reused/total and total-reused.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Reuse status and material compatibility are supplied. No actual resource loop, contamination, ecological benefit or suitable application is assessed.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the complete survey, experiment and ecological analysis. Check detection, spatial variation, sampling representativeness and resource boundaries before interpreting local fractions or supplied labels as ecological benefits or suitable practices.
