Description
Return gross*(1-waterFraction); apply labeledFraction to anhydrous mass or gross mass according to labelIsAnhydrous.
Nutrient labels can report elements, oxide equivalents or fractions on wet, dry or anhydrous material bases. Stoichiometric conversion requires a verified chemical identity and the correct factor direction. A supplied source label and numerical factor record assumptions rather than proving the underlying chemical definition.
Return gross*(1-waterFraction); apply labeledFraction to anhydrous mass or gross mass according to labelIsAnhydrous.
When to use this tool
Use Fertilizer Hydrate Water Base Flag when checking the stated nutrient, moisture or elemental-equivalent convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter grossMass, hydrateWaterFraction, labeledFraction, labelIsAnhydrous. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read anhydrousMass, impliedComponentMass. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative gross mass and hydrate-water/labeled fractions in [0,1]. Return gross*(1-waterFraction); apply labeledFraction to anhydrous mass or gross mass according to labelIsAnhydrous.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| grossMass | Gross Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| hydrateWaterFraction | Hydrate Water Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| labeledFraction | Labeled Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| labelIsAnhydrous | True applies labeledFraction to gross mass after removing hydrate water; false uses gross mass. | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| anhydrousMass | Anhydrous Mass | Required. Finite number. |
| impliedComponentMass | Implied Component Mass | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Hydrate water is a supplied gross-mass fraction; no hydrate formula, drying behavior or chemical identity is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
