Fertilizer Blend Inert Carrier Share Tool

Calculate fertilizer blend inert carrier share from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Return the unassigned carrier mass and its fraction of total.

Blend and nutrient balances require compatible component, material and accounting-period bases. Weighted mass fractions, unassigned carrier and included input/output terms answer different questions. A nominal available fraction does not determine actual biological availability or a suitable field application.

Return the unassigned carrier mass and its fraction of total.

When to use this tool

Use Fertilizer Blend Inert Carrier Share when checking the stated blend, nutrient or accounting-boundary term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter totalMass, componentMasses. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read carrierMass, carrierShare. Use the output convention below.

Require totalMass>0 and nonnegative component masses whose sum<=totalMass. Return the unassigned carrier mass and its fraction of total.1

componentMassesComponent MassesRequired. Array of finite number; maximum items 256.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The residual is labeled carrier by convention; chemical inertness, component identity and actual blend composition are not established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified composition, compatibility and full system balances with qualified laboratory/agronomic advice for actual chemical or nutrient management.
