Farm Policy Budget Execution Ratio

Compare explicit spending with a positive allocated budget in the same currency, preserving overspending.

Description

Calculate supplied budget execution ratio and remaining balance.

Policy arithmetic depends on supplied rule editions, eligibility assertions, rate bases and accounting boundaries. A simple interest term does not select a legal rate, and passing recorded check flags does not establish program eligibility. Overspend and over-redemption can remain visible as signed discrepancies.

Calculate supplied budget execution ratio and remaining balance.

When to use this tool

Use Farm Policy Budget Execution Ratio when you already have spentAmount, allocatedBudget and need to calculate supplied budget execution ratio and remaining balance.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter spentAmount, allocatedBudget. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read executionRatio, remainingBudget. Use the output convention below.

Require spentAmount>=0 and allocatedBudget>0; return spent/allocated and allocated-spent.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
spentAmountSpent AmountRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
allocatedBudgetAllocated BudgetRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
executionRatiospentAmount/allocatedBudget; can exceed one, with negative remainingBudget.Required. Finite number.
remainingBudgetRemaining BudgetRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Overspend gives ratio above one and negative remainder. No actual expenditure, appropriations, efficiency, entitlement or lawful budget use is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult authoritative program rules and original budget, evidence and payment records. Apply the complete eligibility and legal process when local caps, date gaps or labels cannot determine an actual obligation or entitlement.
