Ad Duration Impression Share Tool

Describe an ad's slot-duration share and total nominal impression-seconds under full-play exposure.

Description

Divide adSeconds by positive slotSeconds for durationShare and multiply adSeconds by nonnegative integer impressions for impressionSeconds.

Duration shares compare an advertisement's length with its allotted slot. Multiplying duration by impression count creates an exposure bookkeeping quantity whose basis differs from unique reach or measured attention.

Divide adSeconds by positive slotSeconds for durationShare and multiply adSeconds by nonnegative integer impressions for impressionSeconds.

When to use this tool

Use Ad Duration Impression Share when you need a duration-based component for a supplied advertisement and slot.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter adSeconds, slotSeconds, impressions. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read durationShare, impressionSeconds. Use the output convention below.

Divide adSeconds by positive slotSeconds for durationShare and multiply adSeconds by nonnegative integer impressions for impressionSeconds.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Ad duration cannot exceed the slot; impression-seconds are a supplied duration-weighted count, not measured attention, viewability, or independent audience reach.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use delivery and viewability measurements when actual audience exposure matters.
