Sugar Accumulation Brix Per Week
Track measured signed Brix changes on actual unequal sampling periods, retaining decreases; not sugar production mass, alcohol conversion or a harvest-ready prediction.
Description
Brix observations describe soluble-solids concentration.
Brix observations describe soluble-solids concentration. Unequal sampling intervals require time-normalized changes.
Track measured signed Brix changes on actual unequal sampling periods, retaining decreases; not sugar production mass, alcohol conversion or a harvest-ready prediction.
When to use Sugar Accumulation Brix Per Week
Use this tool to track measured signed Brix changes on actual unequal sampling periods, retaining decreases; not sugar production mass, alcohol conversion or a harvest-ready prediction.
Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
How to use Sugar Accumulation Brix Per Week and understand its results
- Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
- Enter observationDays, observedBrix using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read intervalSignedBrixChangesPerWeek, wholeObservedPeriodBrixChangePerWeek. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observationDays | Observation days | list of number | Required |
| observedBrix | Observed brix | list of number | Required |
Use increasing days and aligned nonnegative Brix readings. Return each signed interval rate and the endpoint-based whole-period rate; retain decreases.1
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths. Each sequence checked for increasing order must contain at least two strictly increasing values.
Brix/week = 7 × change in Brix/change in days Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| intervalSignedBrixChangesPerWeek | Interval signed brix changes per week | list of number |
| wholeObservedPeriodBrixChangePerWeek | Whole observed period brix change per week | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
Concentration change does not measure sugar-production mass, alcohol potential or harvest readiness.
Numbers and computed results must be finite; overflow produces an error. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Harvest Window Optimal Days Brix Range Finder: Find all piecewise-linear observed Brix-compatible intervals under caller range, retaining disconnected/reversed trajectories and boundaries; sugar compatibility alone is not optimal harvest, maturity, acid balance or validated future scheduling. For a complementary task, use Acidity Decline Malic Respiration Rate: Fit signed log-linear malic mass-pool and concentration decline separately from actual sample volume, retaining apparent increase; observational loss is not proof of respiration, dilution or metabolic mechanism.
