Harvest Window Optimal Days Brix Range Finder
Find all piecewise-linear observed Brix-compatible intervals under caller range, retaining disconnected/reversed trajectories and boundaries; sugar compatibility alone is not optimal harvest, maturity, acid balance or validated future scheduling.
Description
Brix trajectories can rise, fall or revisit a desired range.
Brix trajectories can rise, fall or revisit a desired range. Compatible observed intervals need not form one continuous harvest window.
Find all piecewise-linear observed Brix-compatible intervals under caller range, retaining disconnected/reversed trajectories and boundaries; sugar compatibility alone is not optimal harvest, maturity, acid balance or validated future scheduling.
When to use Harvest Window Optimal Days Brix Range Finder
Use this tool to find all piecewise-linear observed Brix-compatible intervals under caller range, retaining disconnected/reversed trajectories and boundaries; sugar compatibility alone is not optimal harvest, maturity, acid balance or validated future scheduling.
Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
How to use Harvest Window Optimal Days Brix Range Finder and understand its results
- Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
- Enter observationDayOrdinals, observedBrix, callerBrixAcceptableRange using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read compatibleHarvestWindowDayBounds, totalContinuousCompatibleDays. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observationDayOrdinals | Observation day ordinals | list of number | Required |
| observedBrix | Observed brix | list of number | Required |
| callerBrixAcceptableRange | Caller brix acceptable range | list of number | Required |
Use increasing day ordinals, aligned nonnegative Brix and two ordered range endpoints. Clip each linear segment, merge exactly touching windows, retain disconnected windows and sum durations. At most 128 windows are supported.1
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths. Each sequence checked for increasing order must contain at least two strictly increasing values.
compatible intervals = pieces of linear Brix segments inside the inclusive caller range Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| compatibleHarvestWindowDayBounds | Compatible harvest window day bounds | list of list of number |
| totalContinuousCompatibleDays | Total continuous compatible days | number |

} Limitations and assumptions
No extrapolation; Brix compatibility alone does not establish optimal harvest, acidity or maturity.
Numbers and computed results must be finite; overflow produces an error. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Sugar Accumulation Brix Per Week: Track measured signed Brix changes on actual unequal sampling periods, retaining decreases; not sugar production mass, alcohol conversion or a harvest-ready prediction. For a complementary task, use Veraison To Harvest Day Span: Audit observed veraison/harvest event timeline on caller continuous day ordinals, preserving no harvest as right-censored duration; no maturity-optimum date or fixed variety calendar.
