Smart Dyson Up Down Shoot Count

Keep actual Smart-Dyson upward/downward inventory, vine representation and curtain-length exposure distinct; no required balance, bud fruitfulness or suitability of canopy training inferred.

Description

Smart-Dyson systems divide shoots into upward and downward curtains.

Smart-Dyson systems divide shoots into upward and downward curtains. Counts and represented curtain length describe different aspects of that inventory.

Keep actual Smart-Dyson upward/downward inventory, vine representation and curtain-length exposure distinct; no required balance, bud fruitfulness or suitability of canopy training inferred.

When to use Smart Dyson Up Down Shoot Count

Use this tool to keep actual Smart-Dyson upward/downward inventory, vine representation and curtain-length exposure distinct; no required balance, bud fruitfulness or suitability of canopy training inferred.

Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.

How to use Smart Dyson Up Down Shoot Count and understand its results

  1. Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
  2. Enter upwardShootCountsByVine, downwardShootCountsByVine, representedVineCounts, curtainRowLengthsM using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read totalRepresentedUpwardShoots, totalRepresentedDownwardShoots, upwardShootShare, signedDirectionCountImbalance, upwardShootDensityPerMeterCurtain. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

Align nonnegative integer directional shoots per vine with positive integer represented vines and positive curtain lengths. Multiply by representation, require positive total shoots, and report totals, share, signed imbalance and upward shoots per represented curtain meter.1

Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.

upward share = upward/(upward + downward); imbalance = (upward − downward)/total

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

No required directional balance or suitability of the training system is inferred.

Numbers and computed results must be finite; overflow produces an error. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Shoot Density Per Meter Row: Normalize observed shoot inventories by actual row versus multiple-curtain exposure, retaining different denominators; no shoot density target or canopy quality inference. For a complementary task, use Guyot Cane Total Buds: Account measured multi-cane Guyot retained fruit buds and separate renewal-spur buds by vine; no conflation of renewal with crop buds or prediction of fruitfulness.
