Mildew Infection Period GDM Checker
Audit continuous leaf-wet intervals wholly within caller downy-mildew temperature policy and wet duration; observed exposure criterion is not pathogen presence, validated GDM disease model, infection proof or spray recommendation.
Description
Leaf wetness and temperature jointly describe downy-mildew exposure conditions.
Leaf wetness and temperature jointly describe downy-mildew exposure conditions. A continuous qualifying episode differs from isolated wet observations.1
Audit continuous leaf-wet intervals wholly within caller downy-mildew temperature policy and wet duration; observed exposure criterion is not pathogen presence, validated GDM disease model, infection proof or spray recommendation.
When to use Mildew Infection Period GDM Checker
Use this tool to audit continuous leaf-wet intervals wholly within caller downy-mildew temperature policy and wet duration; observed exposure criterion is not pathogen presence, validated GDM disease model, infection proof or spray recommendation.
Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
How to use Mildew Infection Period GDM Checker and understand its results
- Prepare vineyard measurements, dates or block records for the intended growing period. Keep weights, counts and weather observations in the stated units.
- Enter observationHours, observedTemperaturesC, leafWetFlags, callerInfectionTemperatureBandC, callerMinimumContinuousWetHours using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
- Read qualifyingWetEpisodeStartHours, qualifyingWetEpisodeDurationsHours, callerExposureCriterionMet. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
- If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type; see rules below | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| observationHours | Observation hours | list of number | Required |
| observedTemperaturesC | Observed temperatures c | list of number | Required |
| leafWetFlags | Leaf wet flags | list of number | Required |
| callerInfectionTemperatureBandC | Caller infection temperature band c | list of number | Required |
| callerMinimumContinuousWetHours | Caller minimum continuous wet hours | number | Required |
Use increasing hours, aligned Celsius observations, one binary wet flag per interval, an ordered temperature band and positive minimum wet hours. Qualify an interval only when both endpoint temperatures are inside the inclusive band; join contiguous intervals and keep durations at least the minimum.2
Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths. Each sequence checked for increasing order must contain at least two strictly increasing values.
episode duration = ending observation hour − starting observation hour Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| qualifyingWetEpisodeStartHours | Qualifying wet episode start hours | list of number |
| qualifyingWetEpisodeDurationsHours | Qualifying wet episode durations hours | list of number |
| callerExposureCriterionMet | Caller exposure criterion met | boolean |

} Limitations and assumptions
Supplied exposure criteria do not prove pathogen presence or infection and are not a spray recommendation.
Numbers and computed results must be finite; overflow produces an error. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors. A successfully returned false flag is an evaluated outcome; its meaning is explained above.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use Black Rot Wetness Duration Risk Checker: Accumulate wet-interval equivalent dose against caller independently calibrated black-rot temperature/wet-duration curve, resetting on dry intervals; midpoint temperature approximation and additive hazard assumption exposed, no infection diagnosis or fungicide guidance. For a complementary task, use Heat Wave Shriveling Risk Days: Count caller heat-wave duration policy on observed maximum temperatures; not baseline-percentile WSDI, measured berry water loss or shriveling/damage diagnosis.
