Description
Calculate container-plus-water mass using a supplied water density.
City-garden planning combines nominal container geometry, route lengths, water masses, access sides and shared-resource accounting. A litre quantity becomes mass only with a density, while reach depends on the declared accessible sides. Simple margins and shares organize supplied measurements; material behavior, structural capacity and individual access needs require separate assessment.
Calculate container-plus-water mass using a supplied water density.
When to use this tool
Use Roof Top Water Container Weight Input when you already have waterVolumeLiters, suppliedDensityKilogramsPerLiter, emptyContainerMassKilograms and need to calculate container-plus-water mass using a supplied water density.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter waterVolumeLiters, suppliedDensityKilogramsPerLiter, emptyContainerMassKilograms. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read totalMassKilograms. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative water litres/empty-container kilograms and suppliedDensityKilogramsPerLiter>0; return volume*density+empty mass in kg.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| waterVolumeLiters | Water Volume Liters | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| suppliedDensityKilogramsPerLiter | Supplied Density Kilograms Per Liter | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| emptyContainerMassKilograms | Empty Container Mass Kilograms | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| totalMassKilograms | Container plus water mass in kg, not weight force or distributed roof load. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is mass, not force or distributed structural load; no roof capacity, support, safe placement or density selection is provided.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Measure the actual bed, container and access routes before applying nominal dimensions. For roof loading or water delivery, use the full support or hydraulic calculation; reconcile volunteer and harvest records over one common accounting period.
