Description
Record a residual's supplied studentization-scale definition and source.
Statistical summaries depend on weights, reference origins, denominator definitions and sign conventions. A squared deviation about an arbitrary origin is not automatically a variance, and a scale label does not studentize a residual. Keep the stated measurement and model conventions attached to a quantity before comparing or interpreting it.
Record a residual's supplied studentization-scale definition and source.
When to use this tool
Use Residual Studentization Scale Label when you already have residualId, scaleDefinition, source and need to record a residual's supplied studentization-scale definition and source.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter residualId, scaleDefinition, source. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty residualId, scaleDefinition and source; encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| residualId | Residual Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| scaleDefinition | Scale Definition | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| source | Source | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

"input": {
"residualId": "R17",
"scaleDefinition": "external deleted scale",
"source": "Model A"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"R17\",\"external deleted scale\",\"Model A\"]"

} Limitations and assumptions
- No residual is divided by a scale and no internal/external studentization, model fit or inference is performed.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Calculate the full weighted statistic from all observations and its defined centering and normalization. Consult the original model or reporting method for studentization and effect-size conventions, keeping a supplied scale label separate from a computed statistical quantity.
