Description
Record the denominator-type convention of a proportion statistic.
Statistical summaries depend on weights, reference origins, denominator definitions and sign conventions. A squared deviation about an arbitrary origin is not automatically a variance, and a scale label does not studentize a residual. Keep the stated measurement and model conventions attached to a quantity before comparing or interpreting it.
Record the denominator-type convention of a proportion statistic.
When to use this tool
Use Proportion Observation Denominator Type when you already have statisticId, denominatorType, source and need to record the denominator-type convention of a proportion statistic.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter statisticId, denominatorType, source. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require nonempty statisticId, denominatorType and source; encode the ordered triple as JSON text.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| statisticId | Statistic Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| denominatorType | Denominator Type | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| source | Source | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |

| token | Token | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"statisticId": "S17",
"denominatorType": "eligible records",
"source": "Study A"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"S17\",\"eligible records\",\"Study A\"]"

} Limitations and assumptions
- The denominator type is a label, not a measured denominator, valid sampling frame or computed proportion.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Calculate the full weighted statistic from all observations and its defined centering and normalization. Consult the original model or reporting method for studentization and effect-size conventions, keeping a supplied scale label separate from a computed statistical quantity.
