Description
Multiply nonnegative distanceKm by ratePerKm and add nonnegative otherApprovedCost.
A cost term combines quantities with rates on a consistent currency and time basis. A supplied multiplier or reimbursement changes accounting without determining an entitlement or market price.
Multiply nonnegative distanceKm by ratePerKm and add nonnegative otherApprovedCost.
When to use this tool
Use Appointment Travel Reimbursement when you need an explicit labor, time, or project-cost component.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter distanceKm, ratePerKm, otherApprovedCost. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read reimbursement. Use the output convention below.

} Limitations and assumptions
- The rate is currency per kilometer; approval, route eligibility, taxes, and an agency's reimbursement policy are supplied rather than determined.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Reconcile the full cost model and relevant contractual or payroll policy before treating a component as a final charge.
