Description
Convert a supplied stiffness duration between minutes and hours.
Rheumatology records distinguish observed findings, unassessed joints, anatomical chart labels and instrument/source versions. A not-assessed state differs from an assessed negative finding, while a censored laboratory value differs from an exact measurement. Durations and labels retain their source conventions and do not themselves constitute a diagnosis or disease-activity score.
Convert a supplied stiffness duration between minutes and hours.
When to use this tool
Use Rheumatology Stiffness Duration Unit when you already have duration, inputUnit and need to convert a supplied stiffness duration between minutes and hours.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter duration, inputUnit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read minutes, hours. Use the output convention below.
Require duration>=0 and inputUnit minutes or hours; use 60 minutes per hour.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| duration | Duration | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| inputUnit | Input Unit | Required. Text; one of "minutes", "hours"; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| minutes | Minutes | Required. Finite number. |
| hours | Hours | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The duration is recorded, not measured or interpreted as a diagnostic criterion.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the original chart, instrument version and laboratory reporting convention for substantive interpretation. Preserve unassessed findings and censoring separately from recorded negatives and exact values; a local label or duration conversion does not assemble a disease-activity assessment.
