Description
Shift a supplied reference month backwards by an explicit CPI lag.
Property bookkeeping distinguishes scheduled and collected rent, concessions, assigned common area, fee bases and calendar boundaries. A decimal index change differs from a percentage-number input, and a rent-free period needs explicit start/end conventions. Supplied scenarios do not establish market value, lawful charges, possession or enforceable lease terms.
Shift a supplied reference month backwards by an explicit CPI lag.
When to use this tool
Use Lease Cpi Reference Lag Month when you already have referenceYear, referenceMonth, suppliedLagMonths and need to shift a supplied reference month backwards by an explicit CPI lag.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter referenceYear, referenceMonth, suppliedLagMonths. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read laggedYear, laggedMonth, monthLabel. Use the output convention below.
Require year 0..9999, month 1..12 and safe whole lag>=0. Subtract lag from exact BigInt month index; require result in years 0000..9999 and return year/month plus padded YYYY-MM.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| referenceYear | Whole year 0..9999; output month must remain within this same year domain. | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0; maximum 9999. |
| referenceMonth | Reference Month | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1; maximum 12. |
| suppliedLagMonths | Supplied Lag Months | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| laggedYear | Lagged Year | Required. Safe integer. |
| laggedMonth | Lagged Month | Required. Safe integer. |
| monthLabel | Month Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No CPI data, release schedule or lawful reference month is selected; shifts before year zero are rejected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the lease, transaction records and stated area-measurement method for actual charges and allocations. Use a complete cash-flow or closing statement when assessing net proceeds; supplied credits, caps and fee terms are scenario components.
