Description
Calculate unused property contingency and flag overspending.
Property bookkeeping distinguishes scheduled and collected rent, concessions, assigned common area, fee bases and calendar boundaries. A decimal index change differs from a percentage-number input, and a rent-free period needs explicit start/end conventions. Supplied scenarios do not establish market value, lawful charges, possession or enforceable lease terms.
Calculate unused property contingency and flag overspending.
When to use this tool
Use Estimate Property Contingency Unused Balance when you already have allocatedContingency, usedContingency and need to calculate unused property contingency and flag overspending.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter allocatedContingency, usedContingency. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read unusedBalance, overrun. Inspect overrun before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative allocated/used contingency; return allocated-used and used>allocated.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| allocatedContingency | Allocated Contingency | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| usedContingency | Used Contingency | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| unusedBalance | Unused Balance | Required. Finite number. |
| overrun | Overrun | Required. Boolean. |

"output": {

} Limitations and assumptions
- Negative balance is retained; the tool does not verify invoices, budget adequacy or suitable reserves.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the lease, transaction records and stated area-measurement method for actual charges and allocations. Use a complete cash-flow or closing statement when assessing net proceeds; supplied credits, caps and fee terms are scenario components.
