Description

Explicit tax base and tax-inclusive/exclusive retention convention.

Administrative service records use supplied time windows, counts, fees, and exception credits. Their arithmetic can show a gap or remaining balance while leaving evidence verification, legal rights, and the choice of an applicable service rule for separate review.

Explicit tax base and tax-inclusive/exclusive retention convention.

When to use this tool

Use it for procurement line tax retention order when the required inputs and conventions are already available.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter lineBase, taxRate, retentionRate, retainTax. Use the stated units and boundary conventions.
  2. Run the calculation. Correct any input error before interpreting a result.
  3. Read tax, retention, payable. Inspect any known, defined, inclusion, or boundary flags before interpreting numeric values.

Require nonnegative lineBase and taxRate and retentionRate within zero through one. Calculate tax=lineBase*taxRate, retention against either lineBase or lineBase*(1+taxRate) according to retainTax, and payable as gross including tax minus retention.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Rates are decimal multipliers, not percentage numerals. The tool does not choose tax law, withholding rules, currency rounding, or contractually correct retention treatment.
  • The field tables describe structural bounds; the mechanics also state cross-field requirements. Malformed input shapes, disallowed keys, and invalid domains cause input errors. Results must remain finite and within the declared output contract. A successful false flag or zero placeholder is distinct from an error.
  • Numeric arithmetic uses binary floating point. Exact comparisons have no hidden tolerance or decimal rounding; negative zero is exported as zero. Decimal-text integer operations retain the exactness specifically stated above.

Alternative or Complementary methods

For procurement line tax retention order, check the source records and the supplied rule before comparing the result with another method. Consult the applicable authoritative rule when deciding eligibility, legal timing, fees, or obligations.
