Description

Translate a supplied interview segment timestamp without interpreting interview content.

Research questionnaires and interview records distinguish answered, declined, omitted, unpresented, and inapplicable items. Timing and support annotations also affect their denominators. A completeness measure or scale transformation describes those records without establishing an instrument score or a mental-health assessment.

When to use this tool

Use Interview Segment Time Offset when you need the particular completeness, timing, polarity, or bookkeeping term for supplied research and interview records.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter segmentTime, recordingOrigin, suppliedClockOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordingTime. Use the output convention below.

Return recordingTime=recordingOrigin+segmentTime-suppliedClockOffset.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

Limitations and assumptions

  • All values need a common unit and explicit offset sign. No recording is opened, segment located, clock synchronization verified, or interview content interpreted.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the relevant validated instrument and its documented missing-response and scoring procedures when the task requires an assessment. Verify research annotations and timing before combining record terms.
