Prosthetic Model Anisotropic Shrinkage Axis Term Tool

Calculate prosthetic model anisotropic shrinkage axis term from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Divide three nonnegative axes by corresponding positive retention factors for correctedAxes and multiply those factors for volumeRetention.

Dental laboratory and prosthetic research records distinguish measured dimensions, reference targets, material quantities, and evidence flags. Ratios and residuals depend on those measurement conventions. An idealized bench term or metadata match is separate from fabrication quality and clinical fit or suitability.

Divide three nonnegative axes by corresponding positive retention factors for correctedAxes and multiply those factors for volumeRetention.

When to use this tool

Use Prosthetic Model Anisotropic Shrinkage Axis Term when you need the stated laboratory, bench, geometry, or device-record term from already supplied measurements or annotations.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter axes, retention. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read correctedAxes, volumeRetention. Use the output convention below.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Retention factors may exceed one and must represent compatible linear axes. The model does not measure shrinkage, verify material behavior, correct complex distortion, or assess clinical fit.
  • The field tables state structural bounds; the mechanics also specify cross-field constraints. Malformed inputs and unsupported domains cause errors. A successful false flag, empty branch value, or zero placeholder has the meaning stated above and is distinct from an input error.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements and an appropriate complete geometric, material, or laboratory method when the task requires more than one bench term. Clinical suitability requires a separate professional assessment.
