Precision Irrigation Meter Count

Convert an explicit monotone pulse-count increment using a supplied volume per pulse without inferring resets or irrigation needs.

Description

Convert a nondecreasing irrigation pulse count to supplied metered volume.

Precision-agriculture records separate spatial reference versions, quality-code sources, calibration factors and target prescriptions. A cross-track error needs a directed planar line, while pulse counts require a compatible volume-per-pulse factor. Local map differences and overlap widths do not select a treatment, control machinery or establish positioning accuracy.

Convert a nondecreasing irrigation pulse count to supplied metered volume.

When to use this tool

Use Precision Irrigation Meter Count when you already have previousPulseCount, currentPulseCount, volumePerPulse and need to convert a nondecreasing irrigation pulse count to supplied metered volume.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter previousPulseCount, currentPulseCount, volumePerPulse. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read pulseIncrement, meteredVolume. Use the output convention below.

Require safe whole previous>=0/current>=previous and volumePerPulse>0; increment=current-previous and volume=increment*factor.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
previousPulseCountPrevious Pulse CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 0.
currentPulseCountSafe whole counter at least previous; reset/rollover is not assumed.Required. Safe integer.
volumePerPulseVolume Per PulseRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
pulseIncrementPulse IncrementRequired. Safe integer.
meteredVolumeMetered VolumeRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Counter reset/rollover is rejected rather than inferred; calibration, leaks, actual delivered water and suitable irrigation are not verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the original georeferenced map, calibrated meter and verified machine geometry for field decisions. A full guidance or application analysis must include coordinate system, path extent and equipment constraints beyond one signed offset or overlap width.
