Description
Measure a signed voter-roll count revision.
Election and representation summaries depend on counting conventions: included ballots, quotas, seat totals, strict majority and source-defined statuses. A half-seat rule differs from an official quorum or certified result. Supplied counts and denominators support transparent arithmetic while legal rules, ballot validity and representativeness require separate evidence.
Measure a signed voter-roll count revision.
When to use this tool
Use District Voter Roll Revision Delta when you already have previousVoterCount, revisedVoterCount and need to measure a signed voter-roll count revision.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter previousVoterCount, revisedVoterCount. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative safe whole previous/revised counts; return revised-previous.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| previousVoterCount | Previous Voter Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| revisedVoterCount | Revised Voter Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| signedGap | Signed Gap | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The tool does not verify voter identity, eligibility, duplicate records or the reason for a revision.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Consult the governing count procedure and official source records for actual ballot treatment, quotas and majority rules. Reconcile all relevant ballots or seats before extending one share or surplus factor to a complete election or representation result.
