Cycle Phase Relative Time Tool

Calculate cycle phase relative time from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

For positive cycleLength wrap eventAt-origin into a nonnegative phase below cycleLength and return fraction=phase/cycleLength.

Physiological models use measured signals, reference levels, rates, and physical balances. A content difference, normalized phase, or energy term depends on its unit system and model assumptions. Supplied coefficients and annotations define the calculation but do not establish biological plausibility or measurement accuracy.

For positive cycleLength wrap eventAt-origin into a nonnegative phase below cycleLength and return fraction=phase/cycleLength.

When to use this tool

Use Cycle Phase Relative Time when you need this explicit signal, content, phase, flow, or physical-balance term under compatible supplied units.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter eventAt, origin, cycleLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read phase, fraction. Use the output convention below.

For positive cycleLength wrap eventAt-origin into a nonnegative phase below cycleLength and return fraction=phase/cycleLength. If the direct difference overflows, reduce each operand modulo the cycle before subtraction.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Times and cycleLength need one unit and compatible origins. The cycle model is supplied, with no event detection, variable-period estimation, or clinical interpretation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Choose a physiological and measurement model suited to the signal or experiment. Verify coefficients, unit conversions, baseline definitions, and sampling support before combining local terms.
