Description
Compare supplied mass-fraction assay bases without identifying compounds or evaluating a product.
Botanical laboratory records distinguish wet mass, dry matter, carriers, extract mass, and assay response. A fraction or reference comparison depends on the chosen material basis and supplied analytical method. Voucher and monograph metadata help identify records but do not themselves authenticate a specimen or establish product quality.

When to use this tool
Use Marker Assay Dry Basis Gap when you need this mass-basis, assay-response, extraction, or source-record calculation for supplied laboratory data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter asReceivedFraction, waterMassFraction, suppliedDryFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read convertedDryFraction, gap. Use the output convention below.
Require asReceivedFraction within zero through one, waterMassFraction in [0,1), asReceivedFraction<=1-waterMassFraction, and suppliedDryFraction within zero through one. Return convertedDryFraction=asReceivedFraction/(1-waterMassFraction) and gap=convertedDryFraction-suppliedDryFraction.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| asReceivedFraction | As Received Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| waterMassFraction | Water Mass Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; strictly below 1. |
| suppliedDryFraction | Supplied Dry Fraction | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| convertedDryFraction | Converted Dry Fraction | Required. Finite number. |
| gap | Signed difference under the stated formula and measurement unit. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Fractions are mass fractions rather than percentage numerals. The input gate keeps the converted fraction at most one; assay accuracy, moisture method, and material identity are not checked.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate authenticated reference material, analytical protocol, and source records for a full laboratory assessment. Verify moisture basis, response factors, and extract/carrier definitions before comparing results.
