Description
Return netSample, foreignFraction=foreignMass/netSample, and cleanMass=netSample-foreignMass.
Botanical laboratory records distinguish wet mass, dry matter, carriers, extract mass, and assay response. A fraction or reference comparison depends on the chosen material basis and supplied analytical method. Voucher and monograph metadata help identify records but do not themselves authenticate a specimen or establish product quality.
Return netSample, foreignFraction=foreignMass/netSample, and cleanMass=netSample-foreignMass.
When to use this tool
Use Herbal Material Foreign Matter Mass Share when you need this mass-basis, assay-response, extraction, or source-record calculation for supplied laboratory data.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sampleMass, foreignMass, excludedPackaging. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read netSample, foreignFraction, cleanMass. Use the output convention below.
Require positive sampleMass-excludedPackaging, nonnegative packaging and foreignMass within the net sample. Return netSample, foreignFraction=foreignMass/netSample, and cleanMass=netSample-foreignMass.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sampleMass | Positive sample mass in the common mass unit. | Required. Finite number. |
| foreignMass | Foreign Mass | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| excludedPackaging | Excluded Packaging | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| netSample | Net Sample | Required. Finite number. |
| foreignFraction | Foreign Fraction | Required. Finite number. |
| cleanMass | Clean Mass | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Masses need one unit. Foreign matter classification is supplied and the remaining mass is not thereby authenticated, contaminant-free, safe, or pharmacopeially compliant.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Signed zero is exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the appropriate authenticated reference material, analytical protocol, and source records for a full laboratory assessment. Verify moisture basis, response factors, and extract/carrier definitions before comparing results.
